DJ Khaled 'Suffering From Success' Album Review
Album dropped earlier this week. I delayed the review slightly but i knew what i was gonna say form the get go. Honest truth is there is no message here if that is what you are looking for. Khaled did what Khaled does best- Make hits for the club. you got your usual suspects on the features- Lil' Wayne, Drake, Rozay, Nicki, Ace Hood, Future and more. Suffering From Success is a good album for the club but you can make your own decisions on it. The tracks that stand out for me on this album are:
Never Surrender (ft. Scarface, Jadakiss, Meek Mill, Akon, John Legend, Anthony Hamilton)
&
Hells Kitchen (ft. J. Cole, Bas)
Suffering From Success is out now, cop it on iTunes

Some are saying this has been the best cypher since 2008. Below is the TDE Cypher that stood out the most but you can check out the entire line up on BET.

Pusha T My Name Is My Name Album Review
Pusha T's debut finally dropped after a few delays but i'd say it was definitely worth the wait. MNIMN is Pusha T's coming out party and everyones invited.
After a first listen to this album I fell in love, an instant realisation that most people (me included) have slept on the talent that Pusha T has to showcase.
My fear was that this album would be a reminder that Pusha T was in the dope game without range, and that he has nothing else to talk about, boy was I proved wrong. On Let Me Love You he switches up his flow to sound like an old school Mase and he does it so well that it leaves you checking the liner notes. With Kelly Rowland on the hook and The Dream on production it all comes together and makes a good recipe for a good joint. The track has a Neptune’s feel to it.
On opening track King Push (Intro) he is quick to claim his seat on the throne with his opening statements
This is my time, this is my hour, this is my pain, this is my name, this is my power.
King Push is a lyrical showcase which sets you off on a journey and what a journey it is.
He does tracks I wouldn’t have pictured him doing like Sweet Serenade ft Chris Brown, Had this on repeat a few times before writing this, an awesome track, well balanced between the two on the track. Chris Breezy delivers a calming but catchy hook.(was happy Chris didn’t do anything else but the hook) Quote of the album is on this track
The best rapper living, I know who’s alive to me, the competition all but dead to me, I make these mother fuckers hide from me
The track I was looking forward to the most was his reunion with Pharrell - S.N.I.T.C.H . I instantly fell in love with this track. A Pharrell hook that is just hypnotic and Pusha showcasing his story telling skills doesn’t disappoint at all. Don’t even know what to say about the beat, my favourite track hands down.
There is a few features on the album but none as big as Nosetalgia ft Kendrick Lamar. Automatically thought K-Dot would shit all over Pusha, but dude held his own. This is a really ‘dope’ track, the beat draws you to the lyrics and the two of them are well matched. The result is a lyrical firework display as the two exchange drug dealer stories. Clever word play- would have to say K-Dot narrowly takes this one though.
The other outstanding feature on paper is Hold On ft Rick Ross. The fat man keeps on coming hard with his verses, he impressed a lot on this track. Scatted auto-tune add a bit of eccentricity to the laid back kanye and hudson mohawke produced beat. Who I Am ft 2 Chainz & Big Sean, has a sound that is necessary in the game these days- a lazy beat and a catchy hook. Its a good fit on the album. Big Sean had a good few words to say and so called trap clown prince 2 Chainz adds his touch (with lyrics Entrepreneur/ Strip club connoisseur/ Hot fudge sundae/ Pour it on you, hallelujah) but the two are out shone by Pusha T leaving the other two looking like place holders on the joint. Kanye West handled much of the production on MNIMN and it shows. The dark yet lush beats provide the perfect sound for Push’s own dark and twisted fantasy. Its a shame the album won’t get much radio play and many will miss out on what could be one of the best albums this year. A solid hiphop album, which will gain appreciation from the music lover but might be a bit much for the average listener.
4 of 5 for this one, just because he only gave us 12 tracks feel he could have gone on for longer.
